Paramita Sarkar

Paramita Sarkar is working as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Fash-ion Design, NIFT, Bengaluru. She is a PhD in the area of study of tribal costumes of Tripura and specializes in ethnographic research. She specializes in subjects like Sustainable Design, Traditional Indian Textiles, Styling for performance art & fictional character, Design Process & Design Research. She has several publications in the area of Tribal textiles & costume of Tripura in various national and international journals. She has presented her research work in IAFOR, Osaka Japan, 2013 & IFFTI, Manchester 2019. She was awarded for the category The Best Design for Innovation at FTC, IIT, New Delhi, 2020.
