Rebeca Kerstin Alonso

Rebeca Kerstin Alonso obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Music (specializing in Violin) from the Centro Superior de Música del País Vasco “Musikene” (2006) and a Doctorate in Human and Social Sciences with International Mention and “Cum Laude” from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (2017). After three years as a violinist in the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS) she directs her career towards pedagogy, working as a teacher in professional music conservatories and at the Public University of Navarra (UPNA). She is currently a professor in the music area of the Department of Didactics of Musical, Plastic and Corporal Expression at the UPV/EHU in the Faculty of Education of Bilbao. She has published scientific articles and books on music education and neuropsychology. She has made communications or papers in national and international congresses and has made international research stays at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (KTH) and at the Center for Music and Brain at the University of Aarhus (Denmark) with a project on “Anxiety in musical performance and body awareness”, under the direction of Dr. Boris Kleber and Dr. Peter Vuust. She has received positive evaluation of teaching and research activity for university faculty hiring at the rank of Associate or Assistant Professor (2019).
