Rebecca Counts Kahila

Rebecca Kahila is an educator with 36 years of experience as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, literacy coach, student services supervisor, and principal mentor. Rebecca retired from Virginia Public schools in 2011. She traveled to the United Arab Emirates to teach English and became an Academic Vice Principal there. Currently, she serves Virginia schools in the Department of Education as a specialist in school safety and discipline. She has designed, implemented, and supervised programs to meet the needs of diverse student populations throughout her career. Rebecca also enjoys writing and has published a children’s book, When Ducks Won’t Quack, that reflects her positive approach to working with students.
