Shirley Velasquez-Hoque

Shirley Velásquez-Hoque is a Senior Lecturer in Business and Management at Oxford Brookes University. She is the module leader of various undergraduate modules, including the largest second-year employability module at Oxford Brookes Business School. A module embracing over 500 Business, Law, and Economic students. She also supervises MSc theses and supports Academic Advisees. Her research expertise and interests revolve around economic remittances, migrant entrepreneurship, transnationalism, development, gender relations, and employability. Shirley embraces qualitative research methods and has undertaken fieldwork in England, the United States, and Ecuador. She has presented her research at national and international conferences in England, Morocco, Italy, and Portugal. Shirley also has a PGCTHE, and she is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
