Thangavel Murugan

Thangavel Murugan (Senior Member – IEEE) is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Systems and Security, College of Information Technology, United Arab Emirates University. His academic and research specialization is Information Security, High Performance Computing, Ethical Hacking, Cyberforensics, Blockchain, Cybersecurity Intelligence and Educational Technology. He received Doctorate from Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) Campus, Anna University – Chennai, received Post Graduate degree as M.E. Computer Science and Engineering from J.J. College of Engineering and Technology, Trichy under Anna University – Chennai (University First Rank Holder & Gold Medalist) and received Bachelor’s degree as B.E. Computer Science and Engineering from M.A.M College of Engineering, Trichy under Anna University – Chennai (College First Rank Holder & Gold Medalist). He presently holds 11 years of Teaching and Research experience from various academic institutions. He has published 10+ articles in International Journals, 15+ book chapters in International Publishers, 25+ in the proceedings of International Conferences and 3 in the proceedings of national conferences /seminars. He has been actively participating as reviewers in the international journals and conferences. He has attended 100+ and organized 50+ Workshops / FDPs /Contests/Industry based courses over the past years of experience. He has been a technical speaker in various Workshops/FDPs/Conferences. He has been recognized by IIT Bombay & SAP CSR as SAP Award of Excellence with a cash reward of Rs.5000/- for the best Participation in IITBombayX: FDPICT001x Use of ICT in Education for Online and Blended Learning. He shows interest in student counseling, in motivating for better career and in helping them design value-based lifestyle.
