Abstract

Interior designers own an exceptional ability to engender novel ideas and solutions. It is important to express or convey this idea to clients effectively so that clients can understand the project. Designers and architects validated that they have two ways to express their ideas or communicate with their clients: 2-D and 3-D presentations. Clients have their own experience and perception of these presentations, based on a few elements that they perceive from this presentation. This paper compares 2-D and 3-D presentations, as well as the elements that shape the client's experiences and the propensity towards 2-D and 3-D presentations. The study attempted to investigate a method for perceiving and persuading clients to accept a creative idea without wasting time. The outcomes of the study can be utilized by the designers and institutes to focus more on this skill, as it plays an undeniable role in interior design as it saves them time and money.

Introduction

India is a nation already known for its immense wealth and power. It endures as one of the most distinctive cultures, rich in legacy and history. Architecture Interior design played an indispensable part in the time of majestic Indian kings and queens. A person's behavior is influenced by the features of the area they occupy. A person spends more than ninety percent of his or her time indoors. Sometimes people take it for granted; they hardly notice the furnishings, paints, textures, and other fundamental items. Occasionally, the inside of the space grabs our attention. It could be the pulsing Interior of a hotel, the ironic panelling in an office, or the soothing environment of the drawing-room. So, why is one area so taken for granted that no one takes a look at it, and on the other hand, another area attracts everyone's attention? Furniture, colour, upholstery, and textures are all present in both. The difference is in the Interior design of the area where aesthetic enhancements to the space have been made. Ultimately, that area is creatively attractive and fetched life in the Interior. While this is being done by a professional, a person who understands and is educated for this type of work, the person who has this profession is the “Interior designer”, and the person who hires this professional is termed the “client.”

In the previous decade, India has grown by leaps and bounds, particularly in urban India. India is presently home to some of the world’s greatest minds, its eternal development notwithstanding. The universal breakdown has placed money in the hands of the middle-class in their early lives and those who are now relishing a way of life their paternities had only fantasized about. In the present scenario, people are becoming more fanciful than earlier. The majority of people desire to make their dwellings comfortable and attractive, and space should be used proficiently. A satisfactory-framed, professionally planned space is currently within their clutches, and its actuality is revealed in the expanding business of Interior design.

Most people's aspirations are that their commercial and residential areas should be fabricated like their fantasies. They want their whimsical desires to be molded into actual programmatic requirements. Consequently, the Interior designer has the opportunity to bring dreams to existence. Hence, the Interior design segment seems to be on the rise nowadays. People take ideas and services from the Interior designer. An Interior designer is someone who plans, conceives utilitarian designs, coordinates, manages, and executes projects.

Interior design is the skill and knowledge of enriching the Interior of an area to achieve a healthier and more aesthetically pleasing environment for the people using the space (Attiwill, 2004). According to Bilda and Demirkan (2003), an interior designer’s job is to augment the function and eminence of the area. Enhances the efficiency, safety, and well-being of the client, and endeavors to fulfill the wishes and requirements of clients. In their study Masters (2003), and Key (2004) stated that Interior designers breathe new life into interior spaces while also improving their aesthetic and functional aspects. A designer is termed valuable when they ponder all the objectives (Hall and Landström 2015).

According to Poldma (2010) designers are engrossed in discussions with clients at different phases of design development to gather information to make decisions and create ideas for the specific space. The greatest challenge for the designer is to show that they are fruitful through their deliberate point of view and the aesthetic aspect (Haddad, 2014). As Xu (2021), Özker (2014), and Tural (2006) affirmed, it is very important for a designer to express or communicate their design or concept to clients and to make clients understand it. As Retelny and Hinds (2016) stated clients, are the ones who take the final call on design. At the end of the day, space is for a client to reside in. Moreover, without their satisfaction and permission, an Interior designer can’t proceed with designing. Interior designers have many ways to express their ideas and communicate with their clients.
