The question of ‘why plan strategically?’ is a legitimate question, particularly with the business environment of technology and the marketplace changing so rapidly today. Hill and Jones (2004) refer to various reports on strategic planning and performance, concluding that on average strategic planning does have a positive impact on company performance.
