Abstract

Online learning is the new education method; it may be termed distance education. The classes will be held online, and the educational materials are made available to the students through the internet. The recordings of the classes may be stored for future reference. This chapter elaborates the factors, related problems, and solutions that are important to be met to fulfill the needs of the online learners. The listed factors are electricity, sanitation, social peace and safety, economy, literacy, communication and devices, internet, religion, abhorrence, and intellectual expert group. Apart from the listed factors, there may be factors that are region-specific, unknown, and hidden factors, but the majority of the discussed factors have a global impact. The inference of the global scenario for online education decocts the observations of this chapter and provides amicable solutions. The feasibility of online education is analyzed from a global perspective to get suitable solutions.

Introduction

The education system of the world needs to change according to the dynamic requirement of the pandemic outbreak. The unprecedented anomalies of the Covid – 19 pandemic are yet to be adopted by the diverse culture around the world (United Nations, 2020). Cleanliness and self-discipline are vital to make the difference between safety and risk (Singh, 2020). The student indulged in online learning needs to have sound health to concentrate on learning as sanitation is the crux of good health (Cavanagh & Wambier, 2020). The education system around the world needs to change vigorously followed by the lockdown due to pandemic. The regular education system is coerced to acclimatize to pandemic favorable e-learning or electronic learning. E-learning was accustomed as distant learning has become a new regulation of education (Rathee & Sarkar, 2020). The student next door is similar to an international student through e-learning. The e-learning agenda may allure to be a new era of learning; the impediments are to be addressed exactly to overcome pitfalls due to the system of e-learning. The pitfalls could be subjugated through proper strategies. The strategies that are necessary to curb the impediments of online learning are presented in this chapter.

The strategical list of factors is the power supply to the house, sanitation, social safety, feasible economy, literacy, affordable communication cost, and devices. The aforesaid list may be esoteric, but the chapter will elaborate the fundamental strategy required globally to succeed in online learning. The strategic factors are having a distant impact and immediate impact that needs to be lucidly explained. The factors of electricity, internet, communication, communication devices, economy, and abhorrence are in the immediate impact category that may cause the failure of the online learning system. The factors of sanitation, social safety, social peace, religion, and literacy in the case of primary education are in the distant category that may cause the failure of the online learning system in the long run. The change to the online learning system of education is abrupt and unavoidable because of the global pandemic. The change will lead to the unanticipated hike in communication devices price and an increase in internet traffic. The conditions may favor online miscreants who are anti-social elements gaining through others ignorance. The perils of online learning cannot be precluded. The education safety in online learning needs to be thoroughly elucidated to all students. Apart from the factors discussed, self-discipline and curiosity are essential for being an online learner.
