Abstract

Wireless sensor networks (WSN) play in vital role in different research area technology, electronics, and telecommunication, but these wireless sensor networks have limited computational capability and memory. The basic functions of WSN are analysis, processing, storage, and mining of data. Due to the flexibility of WSN in solving problems of various fields, it has gained more popularity. WSNs have been successfully applied in a variety of applications. In these days, knowledge management systems are attracting research that emerge with wireless sensor networks to reduce drawback of sensors. This chapter presents the review literature of knowledge management and demonstrates creating, managing, sharing, and utilizing in organizations.

Introduction

In these days, cyber world collects the information for enhancing the business. Therefore, researchers have developed an information system to supporting the business using different process such as analysis, design and implementing the information. A knowledge based management system (KMS) support these process to developing the knowledge creation, storage, retrieval, transfer and application.

Knowledge based Management System can be described as an action of consistent managing, something which can be for service to prosper new window of opportunities in the social, technological, academic or business setups. It can be applied to be aware of on-going arising requirements and recognize for making full use of the obtained knowledge. It seeks to push up distinct and shared efficiency by easing knowledge flows and sharing. It changes itself dynamically in an application which are reflective in nature, and hence results in assistance to form the shared comprehension, makes informative knowledge easier, and makes an appearance of the regulations that regulates the application of tasks (Luque, 2016).

It’s a well-known reality that one of the main methods of accomplishing an ambitious gain is Knowledge Management. For furthering the progress of the plan of action, each and every organization requires to exercise knowledge. The procedure accountable for such exercising is Knowledge Management (Domínguez Gonzalez & Martins, 2014). Knowledge management system is helpful for monitoring the things using wireless sensor network.

A wireless network containing special diffusible, self-governing gadgets that make use of devices which detect or measure a physical property and natural states are defined as a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). These self-governing gadgets, or junctions, united with a gateway and routers produce a Wireless Sensor Network having distinctive qualities (Prasanna & Rao, 2012). It is a cluster of sensors which observes checks and keeps continuous record of some exceptional states comprising of material or nature.

The figure 1 has shown basic units of wireless sensor network. It is a self-arranged form and framework fewer wireless networks. Zillions of sensor junctions are held within these junctions and they exchange information amongst each other by utilizing radio waves (Rizvi, 2017).

Through radio waves, the sensor junctions share or exchange information amongst each other. A wireless sensor junction contains necessary items like detecting and calculating gadgets, electrical power units, radio transmitters and receivers. In wireless sensor networks, the independent junctions have finite storage scope, operating momentum, and transmission bandwidth. The functioning means of the sensor junction might be uninterrupted or interrupted based on event. For acquiring position and location based knowledge, Global Positioning System (GPS) can be utilized.

Because of many limitations, WSN needs unconventional patterns for designing new protocols such as MAC Protocols, Routing Protocols and IEEE 802.15.4 Ménage Protocols etc. (Matin & Islam, 2012).

Architecture Of Knowledge Management System

In spite of the tendency for extremely limited devices in sensors and networks of sensors, there is a continuous mode to add more and more functions in the sensors to decrease the requirement for transmission in the sensor and to lengthen accumulator lifespan (Canada-Bago et al., 2010).
