Ali Karakas

Ali Karakaş is an associate professor of Applied Linguistics in the Department of Foreign Language Education, Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, Burdur, Turkey. He's also a postdoctoral member of the Centre for Global Englishes, Southampton University, UK. His main research interests include Global Englishes, English as a lingua franca, World Englishes, Language policy and planning, and language teacher education. He also serves on the editorial boards of several national and international journals, including and . He is the co-editor of the book, published by Springer. Currently, he is interested in research on translanguaging practices in EMI classrooms in the Turkish higher education context.
