Ari Happonen is an Adjunct & Associate Professor, a project manager/principal investigator and University-Industry collaborator at LUT School of Engineering Science in Lappeenranta University of Technology, Finland. Prof. Happonen has special research interests in AI / LLMs, Digitalization, Digital Twins, Augmented / virtual reality, ICT for Sustainability, Electrification / electric vehicles, Hackathons, Digital transformation, Experimental and innovation boosting activities, including Modern waste reduction & sustainability enhancing methodologies. His research focuses mainly on practical and efficient industrial-related applied research collaboration activities in B2B and B2C contexts. He contributes to software engineering, Createch research, ICT & sustainability, AI solutions, hackathon & education-related research areas. He also actively participates in education and teaching development efforts with 20+ years of experience. He works as an intermediary in multiple research projects between universities and innovative front-line companies.
