Description
Spatial Planning provides an integrated, quantitative and interdisciplinary approach to establish the interaction between environmental issues and human response and to find solutions to resolve the problems associated with it for sustainability. To explore the issues, innovations and integrated approaches towards environmental sustainability, an initiative has been taken under an umbrella covering following range of topics: Water insecurity and resources Management, Loss of Green Cover, Energy Efficiency, Reducing Carbon Footprint, Climate Change, and Disaster Management.
Due to the scattered pattern of settlement and the adaptability to urban culture, the environment is degrading. There should be a consolidated balance between human, nature and spatial aspects. Urbanization is giving rise to environmental concerns like urban flooding, loss of green cover leading to disturbance in ecological cycle, water scarcity due to growing needs and deforestation leading to habitat fragmentation, wildlife corridors disturbance, forest fires and climate change. In the fields of Environment Engineering and Planning, technical as well as spatial solutions need to be integrated.
This book is devoted to addressing environmental concerns and technology innovations in domains such as pollution, water insecurity and resources management, loss of green cover, energy efficiency, reducing the carbon footprint, climate change, and disaster management. The main aim of this book is to bridge the gap between engineering considerations and spatial aspects of planning. It will cover the different aspects of environmental engineering, science and planning related to all four critical elements of life: water, air, land, and food. The main objective of this book is to enhance and communicate knowledge in different aspects of environmental issues and provide precise measures in both technical and spatial manners.
