Editor/Author Biographies
Hakikur Rahman is an academic over 30 years has served leading education institutes in Bangladesh and abroad, and established various ICT4D projects funded by ADB, EU, UNDP and World Bank. He is currently serving as the Dean, School of Science and Engineering and Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of the Presidency University and Director at the Ansted University Sustainability Research Institute. Before joining here, he was a Professor, CSE at the Asian University of Bangladesh. Before that he served the BRAC University as an Associate Professor (Chair, CSE Dept.) and a Post-Doctoral Researcher (Research Associate) at the University of Minho, Portugal under the Centro Algoritmi. He has written and edited over 25 books, more than 50 book chapters and contributed over 200 articles on computer education, ICTs, knowledge management, open innovation, data mining and e-government research in newspapers, journals and conference proceedings. Graduating from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1981, he has done his Master's of Engineering from the American University of Beirut in 1986 and completed his PhD in Computer Engineering from the Ansted University, BVI, UK in 2001; and PhD in ICT from the Empresarial University of Costa Rica in 2011.
Rui Dinis de Sousa is the Director of the Master of Science in Information Systems at University of Minho. He teaches IT-related enterprise development courses such as Implementation of Integrated Systems and Engineering of Work, Processes and Organizations. As a researcher, he is particularly focused on enterprise engineering taking advantage of business process management (BPM) approaches and technologies as well as enterprise-wide systems. Co-founder and vice-president both of the Portuguese Institute of BPM (IPBPM) and the Portuguese Chapter of the Association of BPM Professionals (ABPMP), he is also a co-founder of the Portuguese Chapter of the Association of Information Systems (PTAIS) serving as board member of the Portuguese Association of Information Systems (APSI). Graduated with a 5-year degree in Informatics and Systems Engineering and a Master of Science in Business Informatics from the University of Minho, he holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from University of Georgia, USA.
