Abstract

Many studies that focus on Black students examine risk factors and their link with negative outcomes. With societal existences such as racism, discrimination, and prejudice, Black students face challenges that can compromise their health and overall well-being. A series of subject-related keywords was used to extract potentially relevant articles and relevant texts from three electronic databases (Directory of Open Access Journals [DOAJ], Education Resources Information Center [ERIC], and Google Scholar). The findings show that there is a need for groundbreaking strategies involving promotion for reform school discipline practices.

Research Methodology

The literature was reviewed using electronic databases to identify texts that featured positive social trajectory development for well-being of Black students. A series of subject-related keywords (Trajectories Development for Well-being of Black Students Subject Headings) was used to extract potentially relevant articles and relevant texts from three electronic databases (Electronic databases: Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) and Google Scholar). The databases were selected because they represent the most used education and multisystemic journal indexing. Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) gives researchers access to high-quality peer-reviewed journals. It has archived more than two million articles from 17,193 journals, allowing you to either browse by subject or search by keyword. Education Resources Information Center (ERIC) allows a search by topic for material related to the field of education. The service primarily indexes journals, appropriate literature such as technical reports, white papers, and government documents, as well as books. All sources of material on ERIC go through a formal review process prior to being indexed. There are also tips for advanced searches, as well as general guidance on the best way to search the database. ERIC is an excellent database for content specific to education. Google Scholar provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature.
