Abstract

This study aims to identify the key challenges in managing employee personal data in the digital transformation era and explore effective management practices to protect such data through a systematic review of the current literature. This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) approach based on the PRISMA protocol. The articles analyzed are sourced from the Emerald Insight database with the following criteria: published between 2020 and 2025, written in English, and presenting empirical findings related to the management of employee personal data. This study found that personal data management practices are closely linked to technological innovation, sustainability, ethics, and risk management. Key issues include cyber threats, technological infrastructure limitations, and employees' lack of cybersecurity literacy. Clear policies, employee training, and investments in advanced technologies such as encryption and intrusion detection must address these.
