Exploring the Intersection of Halalan Tayyiban Principles and Food Security: A Systematic Review

Abstract

This systematic literature review reveals that food security traditionally emphasises the availability and accessibility of nutritious food to ensure consistent utilisation. The concept of Halalan Tayyiban mandates that food should be ethically sourced and produced following Shariah law and should be accessible to all. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of sharing food with those in need and considers its impact on religious and moral development. To uphold Halalan Tayyiban standards from farm to fork, active involvement from all stakeholders is essential, particularly producers, who must ensure that consumers receive lawful and high-quality food by adhering to government regulations on Halal certification. Future research should expand the study of Halalan Tayyiban principles to encompass a wider array of agricultural issues beyond food security, to further enhance understanding of this Islamic concept.
