Abstract

As global biodiversity declines and tourism-related pressures on ecosystems increase, the airline industry has a unique opportunity to support regenerative conservation through biodiversity tourism. This study explores the role of airlines in promoting biodiversity-focused tourism as a means of fostering conservation management that not only minimizes environmental harm but actively regenerates ecosystems. The findings reveal that while biodiversity tourism offers substantial potential for conservation, it must be carefully managed to avoid unintended environmental impacts. Airlines can contribute to regenerative conservation management by adopting sustainable travel practices, investing in carbon offset programs, and partnering with conservation organizations to support eco-friendly tourism infrastructure. By promoting biodiversity tourism as part of a broader sustainability strategy, the airline industry can play a crucial role in preserving ecosystems and supporting regenerative conservation efforts.
