Abstract

In a globalized world, companies must be effective and efficient with all resources (tangible and intangible and personal). The information and communication technologies (ICTs) were built quickly due to the large and different social problems, in addition to trying to exclude all the barriers of MiPymes that have arisen over time through the implemented information systems. On the other hand, the high demand of companies has marked certain precedents that have determined competitive excellence and increased productivity, which makes technologies such as the internet, social media, connectivity, and the internet of things (IoT) necessary to the daily technological activities that help to make decisions in the different types of MiPymes (homes, offices, workshops, banks, pharmacies, convenience stores, etc.).

Introduction

The development of MiPymes in our country is more demanding within all functional areas as well as in the productive area. ICTs have become an essential tool for changes and modifications of the processes that exist within these areas to have the updated information in real-time, be able to solve problems, and make decisions when the updated information of each generated movement within the company arrives.

ICTs are understood as “those tools and methods used to collect, retain, manipulate or distribute information”, they are generally associated with computers and related technologies applied to decision making” (Bologna & Walsh, 1997).

In addition, all the tangible and non-tangible parts that are derived from the previous concept and combined with other human elements, communications, investments and are integrated, related to, and interrelated with the entire information technology system on the management of these metadata, with the objective of obtaining a detailed analysis for decision-making and thus serve as support for increasing productivity, competitiveness and reducing costs, time and money, for the development of certain strategic processes in certain MiPymes established in economies from advanced countries.
