Abstract

The increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in mental health presents significant ethical and practical challenges. Applications such as Machine Learning (ML) and chatbots aim to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of therapies, enabling earlier diagnosis and continuous monitoring. However, their implementation raises concerns regarding data privacy and the potential dehumanization of psychological treatment. Furthermore, AI can be utilized to assist in identifying traits associated with the dark triad, including narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism, which may prove beneficial in managing various personality disorders. Despite its potential advantages, it is crucial to develop public policies that regulate the use of these technologies and protect patient rights, ensuring that AI complements rather than replaces human intervention in mental health care.
