Abstract

The research paper considers the issue of water in the oil and gas industry. In particular, pollution of the environment by produced water, run-offs from the oil refining and petrochemical industries, as well as atmospheric (storm) run-offs from territories of enterprises. The requirements of Directive 2000/60/EC, 2000), which obliges oil and gas industry enterprises to ensure “zero emission” of hazardous pollutants, are emphasized. The analysis of existing methods of treatment has been provided, as well as comparative characteristics of the main technologies for treating water to remove oil. The issue of the application of computer algorithms and artificial intelligence in the field of treating such waters has been considered. The results of the research on the complex application of new methods and composite reagents for the treatment of run-offs to remove petroleum products and dissolved high molecular compounds have been provided. There has been studies the effect of lines of force of a permanent magnetic field on model solutions with the subsequent introduction of a coagulant solution and flotation. There has been developed a mathematical model of the flotation process in vertical flotation devices, which allows for on-line forecasting of their operation when run-offs quality values change. On the basis of theoretical and experimental studies, an innovative technology for treating oil-containing rain run-off has been proposed.
