Background And Literature Review

Cannabis sativa is a plant species that has been used for medicinal purposes for centuries. The plant contains compounds called cannabinoids, which have been found to have therapeutic properties. The two main cannabinoids found in the plant are tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).

A literature review published in the journal “Frontiers in Neurology” in 2018, suggests that CBD may have therapeutic potential in treating a wide range of neurological disorders, including epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and anxiety disorders. CBD has been found to have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and anti-anxiety properties, which may be useful in treating these conditions (Bitencourt and Takahashi, 2018).
