Abstract

This study investigates the factors that influence consumer adoption of EVs in Coimbatore District. This survey consisted of 275 EV users and the results received spread data about key determinants of EV usage including operating costs, government incentives, battery life, maintenance, comfort, technology, traffic, model availability, range anxiety, reliability, design, charging convenience, sustainability goals, regulations, infrastructure, environmental concerns, horsepower, user friendliness, price, brand image, and safety. They derived key influences by descriptive statistics and factor analysis. Cost savings, incentive, technological advancement and the environmental impact are some of the findings. The study provides policy makers, industry, and marketers ideas to increase EV adoption via affordability, infrastructure and sustainability.
