Abstract

The study focuses on the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in the mountain regions, particularly in the Mussoorie block of Dehradun district. It identifies key issues such as lack of education, insufficient support from family and society, fear of failure, gender inequality, and intense competition in the workplace. Balancing family and business responsibilities is another major challenge. The study highlights the need for strategic planning, effective manpower utilization, and family support. Mountain women entrepreneurs face difficulties in sourcing raw materials and selling their products, requiring adaptive strategies to manage these issues. The research covers various small businesses, including petty shops, hotels, handicrafts, clothing shops, sweet shops, tea shops, traditional food outlets, and toy shops, providing a comprehensive understanding of the obstacles these women face in their entrepreneurial journey.
