Abstract

PPS is essential for efficiently deploying and developing ITS. It combines the public sector's omission with private sector's technological expertise. This chapter discusses the role of PPS in ITS, the technical frameworks and methodologies for integrating PPS with ITS, and the challenges faced by the integration. Algorithms for optimizing dynamic traffic flow, autonomous vehicle communication, and real-time data analytics are also described. This work elaborates the different ways of integrating the emerging technologies like machine learning, wireless vehicle-to-vehicle communication technologies, edge computing, etc., into PPS-ITS and how it can be delved to enhance citizen's lifestyle. Few real-time case studies are also explored in order to emphasize the benefits of PPS-ITS integration that emphasize wide scale deployment, security measures and high interoperability. This chapter provides the required technical dimensions and actionable insights for integrating PPS-ITS which is used for building reliable, sustainable and robust transportation system.
