Abstract

As companies move to the cloud, it is more important than ever for them to conform with laws and ethical standards. The chapter starts by explaining the basics of cloud, cloud security compliance, covering the shared responsibility model between customers and Cloud Service Providers (CSPs). This model indicates the explicit security responsibilities of each network, highlights they must work together in order to help ensure compliance mandates are met appropriately. It also examines the complex matrix of global and regional policies that affect cloud security. The paper talked about strategies for creating strong compliance frameworks covering risk assessment methodologies. The chapter also explore how emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML) and blockchain play a role in streamlining compliance. We also consider the changing backdrop of cloud security certifications and attestations — including SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP and more.
