Abstract

Strongyloidiasis is a human parasitic ailment brought about by a whiplike nematode worm called Strongyloides stercoralis. The main species that infect humans are Ascaris lumbricoides (roundworm), Trichuris trichiura (whipworm), Necator americanus (new world hookworm) and Ancylostoma duodenale (hookworm).
