Abstract

AI is completely transforming cybersecurity through improving the identification, safeguarding, and prevention of risks. While the old Recourse Cyber threats are being handled, new complex threats require AI solutions such as machine learning, neural network, the deep learning approach to handle large data sets. This survey focuses on AI in areas that the technology is being applied to cybersecurity, including intrusion, malware, phishing, ransomware, and zero-day attacks. It considers AI in real-time threat detection, user profiling, and protection against adversarial examples, as well as AI in SIEM solution and discussed possibility of integration with blockchain. Nevertheless, there are several limitations such as the quality of data, the privacy problem, adversarial ones, and scalability of applications of AI in cybersecurity. Opportunities include automatic security system and cloud computing solutions. The results will be useful for further research and may serve as an example for experts in the field of cybersecurity based on artificial intelligence.
