Abstract

The dominant theme in the “Song of Songs” is the relationship of love between Bridegrooms. The subject of interest is the dynamism of the relationship. The attitude and feelings expressed by love, depicted in this book of the Old Testament, don't express only a description of their beauty, but a description of expressing mutual delight of all your loved ones. Mutual learning is shaping a unique spousal bond, which as a result of the involvement of the beloved and the beloved of each event, not always easy, brings them together; and thus they can build their own language of communication. Narrative character of text is treated in its literal sense. Presented course of events highlights everything that deepens and develops relationships between characters and clearly shows what returns as the leitmotif of the story. Focusing attention on events, using visualization as a way to telling about the people and events, puts less emphasis on the lyrical parties – descriptions of the beauty of the Bride appear in the text of the “Song of Songs.”

Introduction

The text of the Song of Songs was studied and interpreted in many ways, not only by the biblical exegetes. Tradition of the readings of the book has its own history in patristic spirituality, especially in the Carmelite spirituality. The best solution seems to be the adoption of a polysemy interpretation of the text. None of the readings exclude the other (Murphy, 1986). This involves acceptance of the literal and allegorical meaning (the Bridegroom - God, the Bride - the Chosen People, the Church, the human soul) and Targum reading, relating to the Exodus of the Chosen People from Egypt to the Promised Land. (Farmer, 2000, p. 802; Stachowiak, 1990, pp. 461-462).

The subject of our analysis is the development and formation of relationships between spouses (Bardski, 2010a, 2010b). Interesting is not only how the relationship between the characters, but under the influence of which events and experience the relationship dynamic is. Although the text for an object has a love – that assumes closeness, Song of Songs is often referred as a song of absence, of waiting, of seeking, more than the fulfillment (Bardski, 2010a, 2010b; Brzegowy, 2007, p. 151). It is important to analyze actions, activity of the woman and her beloved, and common space shaped by them (Falk, 1982).

The second subject of the research will be the answer to the question: how modern ways of presenting knowledge, the results of scientific research on the text of written words are a form of visualization, what has been verbalized as a result of scientific work and whether this visualization allows to expand the study itself in a selected aspect. It is important to recognize whether the new technologies actually allow not only to explain what has already been learned but also to intensify the cognitive process itself (Osińska, 2016, p. 14), and they are not only a decorative or aesthetic element, but as the creators of these tools think, they serve to analyze the presented phenomena (Osińska, 2016, p. 14, 60). Osińska argues that visualization “highlights the semantics of accompanying textual content, supports their analysis and memorization” (Osińska, 2016, p. 70).

Each song text will be analyzed in the chosen narrative aspect of the relationship between spouses. It was assumed that, despite the differences in the consistency of the text of the whole song, its final editor ordered the whole thing according to a certain concept. (Kręcidło, 2008, p. 39), (Balchin, 1970, pp. 579-580). Then, the visualization of the relationship will be made and the conclusions drawn from this statement will be presented. After this part of the research presented will be a visualization of the entire text in the perspective of dynamics of the observed relationship. The incomplete use of visualization techniques for text research, is due to the fact that the research methodology is treated with care in the work like this (Osińska, 2008, p. 176).

The aim is to use the methodology to such an extent that may be suitable for the selected topic. A separate issue is the study of the text of the Bible with using visualization techniques. Such works are carried out mainly at the level indicating the relationship between the characters, places, topics undertaken frequency occurring in the Old and New Testament (Bardski, 2011). The use of technology in Polish literary research concerns primarily stylometry and is conducted by J. Rybicki and M. Eder. It is difficult to point out the particular interests of Polish biblical scholars in this methodology.
