Triz Methodology for Design of Water Saving System in a Household Toliet

Abstract

Renowned scientists have developed creativity theories, have related different discoveries, and have manipulated creative inventions to apply them; however, results are always questionable. Genrich Altshuler, an expert scholar on patents, created the TRIZ Methodology or Theory of Inventive Problem Solving, (Altshuller & Altov, 1996), which has scientifically proved its scopes, based on the study of more than two million patents in different countries (Shirwaiker & Okudan, 2011). According to Carvalho and Back (2001), the TRIZ methodology is developed from interconnecting different methods and algorithms in order to identify, decompose and solve problems from different areas and applications in an innovative manner. Unmeasurable water usage and waste in cities, due to different companies, the state and population, is increasing day after day. Therefore, this research work has the objective to define design technical-conceptual criteria and usage of technical contradictions established in the TRIZ method in order to promote and facilitate prefiguration of water saving systems.
