Abstract

Black women in educational leadership roles profoundly impact the lives of Black children. By applying an intersectional framework that incorporates knowledge of gender, race, and other identities, these leaders navigate the barriers they often face. Their leadership is shaped by professional encounters, familial influences, and personal experiences, enabling them to dismantle structural and systemic obstacles, foster critical thinking, and inspire student activism. Through their guidance, advocacy, and transformative approaches, they create environments where every student can succeed. Black women leaders have been pivotal in shaping educational policies and practices to ensure that Black children receive equitable and empowering educational experiences. This chapter emphasizes the lived experiences and resilience of Black women educational leaders, highlighting how they use their voices, positions, and platforms to influence the lives of Black children.
