Local governments are enhancing their governance through various information communication technologies (ICTs). This article presents an exploratory case study of three municipalities within the United States, examining how each applies YouTube for communication. Using content analysis and selected statistical tests of mean difference, the authors analyzed the videos uploaded between January 2020 to August 2020. The three municipalities used YouTube to document policymaking, publicize programs and services, update critical information during times of crises, and, in some cases, create unique brand images. The average number of views per video were similar across the three YouTube channels. However, one of the municipalities received a statistically significant number of average likes per video, which spotlights its positive brand image. In conclusion, the authors suggest directions for future research and recommend practices for social media adaptation in government.

With the expansion of political technology, newsrooms are now escaping borders by introducing cloud-based news broadcasting platforms right to people's fingertips, and concerns regarding the legitimacy of these internet political news sources are simultaneously emerging. Since the millennials had the opportunity to get the essence of both the mainstream and the digital media outlets, the primary objective of this study is to investigate and examine the perceptions of Bangladeshi millennials regarding the credibility of digital political news coverage and the content they convey. A structured questionnaire survey been used for this study as primary data sources. The study found that, although the mainstream dynamic political news media outlets have wider-spread popularity, the millennials of Bangladesh find that the newly emerged online mediums are more credible for receiving political news.

The delivery of quality healthcare services to citizens is not only a constitutional right, but also the task and obligation of every government. However, bribery, lack of financial accountability and counterfeit drugs, a shortage of human resources, poor hygiene and ineffective infection control measures, and poor medical record keeping have been identified as major challenges for the implementation of a successful public healthcare system. Fraudulent orders, tender irregularities, fiscal dumping, and over-pricing have also been identified as additional challenges. Due to the lack of quality healthcare services, people have lost trust and hope in the African National Congress (ANC). The paper found that to deliver adequate healthcare services, government needs to establish mechanisms that promote efficiency, quality, transparency, and safety. AI is a mechanism that can increase transparency, efficiency, and detect diseases before they become critical. The paper adopted a qualitative research methodology with an exploratory approach.

This paper aims to thoroughly investigate the role of the digital government, digital competitiveness, and future readiness. A significant amount of research and literature reveals the benefits of digitizing governments as well as digital economy on development. This paper aims to measure digital economy by several digital competitiveness indicators, reflecting on the conceptual framework. The main focus is on the extent to which the implementation of the digital variables, in the context of digital competitiveness across countries, promotes the development of a digital future readiness. The sample of this study included the panel data of 12 countries in the Asia Pacific region from the World Digital Competitiveness Ranking Reports. Fixed-effect multiple regression analysis was used to explain variations in a dependent variable impacted by two or more independent factors. The results clarify that technology plays a crucial role in determining future readiness implying more policy focus in this matter.

This research aims to understand the state of the art in Mexico's e-government research field, research trends, empirical research, e-government access, adoption, and availability of online services. Through a systematic literature review using preferred reporting items for systematic literature reviews and meta-analysis (PRISMA) methodology, 19 articles were identified from 2000-2020. The findings show that research trends contribute to the study of factors influencing e-government research in Mexico. Additionally, the insufficient number of publications and reports in scholarly journals related to this topic in Mexico supports this claim. It is essential to foster future studies in several areas to address this gap and understand the factors influencing e-government research by citizens in Mexico.

Smart city applications, evolving from technological to socially inclusive, aim to prioritize sustainability and livability. Despite growing interest, a lack of standardized definitions and planning methodologies hinders smart city development. Urban living labs (ULLs), on the other hand, play a pivotal role in implementing smart city solutions, acting as testing grounds for technologies and policies. Their integration into local government practices is essential. However, ULLs in Turkiye, such as the Basaksehir Living Lab and Istanbul Planning Agency, focus on local problem-solving and sustainable development. While ULLs hold promise, it is unclear if they can entirely replace existing urban governance models. Research is needed to assess their effectiveness. Effective collaboration between national and local governments is essential for comprehensive urban planning. Addressing these challenges, the article emphasizes the interaction between ULL and local government by analyzing Istanbul's landscape transformation process and management system as a model for other countries.

The goal is to develop an evaluation framework for the quality of governance (QoG) and to evaluate the impact of government digitalization on the QoG for Indonesia. The study develops an evaluation framework to determine the impact of digitalization on the QoG. Data were collected to test the framework in practice by interviewing 10 state apparati and organizing small-group discussions. The manual process of the state government officers' selection in Indonesia is considered very poor and vulnerable to corruption, collusion, and nepotism. The interviewees agreed that digitalization resulted in improved transparency and QoG. Overall, information digitalization has a dual impact as it led to improving service quality, transparency, and government accountability, but it did not result in less corruption, collusion, and nepotism. The findings suggest that digitalizing needs to be complemented by introducing checks and controls to reduce these problems. An evaluation framework offers important insights for digitalization and helps to identify opportunities to improve the QoG further.

The study about the leadership model of local government administration in promoting well-being of the people relies on both quantitative and qualitative researches to develop the causal relationship of the leadership model. The quantitative research is based on the development of the structural equation modeling through the questionnaires with 400 participants. By using the cases of Thai subdistrict administration organizations, the qualitative research was conducted through the group conversation meeting. The results showed that the last variable affecting the results of the model was well-being, and the local administration variable influenced the last results of the model the most, followed by authentic leadership and social capital. There is the congruence between quantitative and qualitative data, leading to the simulation of leadership model for local government administration under PIKSA MODEL (P: participate in the project, I: internal ethical perspective, K: the dimension of knowledge, S: social factor, A: adaptability culture).

Digital identity platforms provide unique identity to residents. These also facilitate provision of public services in associated domains like banking, digital payments, healthcare, etc. Such horizontal expansion in multiple domains imparts digital infrastructure characteristics to such platforms. This research ascertains combination of attributes driving infrastructuring of digital identity platforms using fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) and further substantiated by qualitative contextual knowledge. Several key observations regarding necessity and sufficiency of solutions are made. Although based on Indian digital identity platform Aadhar and other public application program interfaces, this research has global implication since such systems are being implemented in several countries in pursuance of United Nations sustainable development goal (SDG 16.9). This research makes several conceptual, theoretical, public policy and methodological contribution using fsQCA with unique characteristics of organized complexity, configurational approach, and equifinality.
