For professionals, scholars, and students from various fields, Eby and Yuzer assemble 17 chapters by education, technology, instructional design, and other specialists from Europe, Australia, the US, and Brazil, who discuss the dimensions, components, and characteristics of project management-based design for online learning. They focus on the communication management, implementation management, human resources management, quality management, and risk management perspectives of online learning design and its models, and how planning, organizing, securing, and managing resources can bring about the successful completion of learning goals and objectives. Chapters describe project-based e-learning and collaborative e-learning approaches; the concept of online freedom; learning project management; the importance of e-learning accessibility; the development of algorithms, software and hardware for avatar management, and avatar moderator training systems; using a public relations process in setting up websites; cost estimations for the preparation of project management plans of e-learning systems; the importance of strategic planning; sustainability issues; and case studies of online learning design for professional learning communities, a high school, and multicultural and bilingual teacher education curricula, among others.
