In our fast paced world of the changing needs and business demands, it is imperative that decision makers know strategies and functions to manage risk and uncertainty. One of the most effective ways to understand uncertainty is by using cross-disciplinary studies. Risk management is essential to control problems at all levels of society for each particular hazard category.

This special issue deals with risk management from cross-disciplinary perspectives. The primary aim is to illustrate emerging challenges in risk management across disciplines. We seek papers that outline the general structure of the risk management processes and methods for risk management in complex cross-disciplinary network environments. When the dependency between companies increases, especially in the global supply chain, all stakeholders become more exposed to uncertainty. Therefore, with increased uncertainty, we need better risk management approaches.

This special issue intends to associate the strategies and functions through which we can mitigate or avoid risk from cross-disciplinary perspectives. This issue will feature original research on the theory, design and implementation of risk management and information technology. We are interested in contributions which look at the role of organizations’ from diversified perspectives
