Article Processing Charges
Article Processing Charge (APC):

Payment of the APC fee (directly to the publisher) by the author or a funding body is not required until AFTER the manuscript has gone through the full double-blind peer review process and the Editor(s)-in-Chief at his/her/their full discretion has/have decided to accept the manuscript based on the results of the double-blind peer review process.

What Does IGI Global's Open Access APC Cover?

In the traditional subscription-based model, the cost to the publisher to produce each article is covered by the revenue generated by journal subscriptions. Under OA, all the articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license; therefore, the authors or funding body will pay a one-time article processing charge (APC) to offset the costs of all of the activities associated with the publication of the article manuscript, including:

  • Digital tools used to support the manuscript management and review process
  • Typesetting, formatting and layout
  • Online hosting
  • Submission of the journal's content to numerous abstracts, directories, and indexes
  • Third-party software (e.g. plagiarism checks)
  • Editorial support which includes manuscript tracking, communications, submission guideline checks, and communications with authors and reviewers
  • All promotional support and activities which include metadata distribution, press releases, promotional communications, web content, ads, fliers, brochures, postcards, etc. for the journal and its published contents
  • The fact that all published articles will be freely accessible and able to be posted and disseminated widely by
    the authors
  • Professional line-by-line English language copy editing and proofreading*

*This service is only performed on article manuscripts with fully paid (not discounted or waived) APC fees.

APC Subsidizing and Funding

To assist researchers in covering the costs of the APC in OA publishing, there are various sources of OA funding. Additionally, unlike many other publishers, IGI Global offers flexible subsidies, 100% Open Access APC funding, discounts, and more. Learn More

Reviews & Statements

Today's is a world in which organizations can keep projects going non-stop by passing work among shift teams in different parts of the globe and in which MNEs can achieve worldwide consistency of processes and services by means of common information systems and knowledge repositories. JGIM challenges our field to understand phenomena like these and provides an invaluable resource for the scholars who are rising to that challenge.

– M. Lynne Markus - The John W. Poduska, Sr. Professor of Information and Process Management, Bentley University

JGIM is one of the best places to publish work related to culture and information systems.

– Michael D. Myers, Professor Of Information Systems, The University of Auckland, New Zealand

In this globalizing world, the success of many firms depends critically on effective information management across national boundaries. Journal of Global Information Management provides perhaps the most visible forum for addressing global and cultural issues on information management. Countries covered by the Journal are very diverse, and so are the theoretical frameworks and methods adopted. It is an excellent outlet and source for articles on information management from a global perspective.

– Kwok Leung, Fellow, Academy of International Business, Chair Professor of Management, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong

JGIM is a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners because its collection of papers provides global and cross-cultural insights into key information management issues in the context of an increasingly complex and inter-connected world.

– Bernard C.Y. Tan, Associate Provost, National University of Singapore, Past President, Association for Information Systems

The world's economy is rapidly growing with trade between nations and regions. Organizations are moving from domestic to multinational and global. No other publication has for almost 20 years been studying the role of information systems in enabling global commerce and enabling multinational organizations as they move to worldwide activity. This publication also has presented numerous views of the interaction between information systems and culture for nations, organizations, and individuals.

– Fred Niederman, Saint Louis University, USA

Information management and information technology management are no question getting more and more global. Important issues for both research and practice include IT (off-shoring) outsourcing, global supply chain, and globally distributed work, to name a few. JGIM offers an important and critical platform for researchers and practitioners to present and discuss their experiences and perspectives on these important issues. I highly recommend this journal to my students who are interested in knowing and understanding global information management.

– Patrick Chau, The University of Hong Kong, China

Most businesses today imply global business which needs the real time integration of geographically dispersed plants, customers, and supplies. ch integration, the global information system is a backbone. Since different countries have different levels of technological maturity and culture, the forum of exchanging experiences and benchmark cases about dynamics of global information systems is necessary. JGIM is the center of such exchange. To learn the current status and research methodologies about global information systems, JGIM is the best journal both for academicians and practitioners, and thus is the best outlet of publicizing such research articles.

– Jae-Kyu Lee, Professor, Dean of Energy, Environment, Water and Sustainability Initiative Dean of Incheon Campus Planning Dean of College of Business (Emeritus) KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology)

JGIM is the first international journal in the IS field focusing on providing a research platform for IS scholars around the world to study important IS issues from a global perspective. When the world's economy becomes increasingly globalized, so do businesses. As a result, IS research too needs to take a global perspective. JGIM has established itself as one of the top tier international journals on important global IS issues, including cross-cultural IS issues.

– Wayne Wei Huang, Professor of Management Information Systems, Ohio University

Information and information technology are fundamental enablers in the globalization of world economy, and especially are the important enablers for business innovation and transformation today. They give the emerging economies a unique touch unprecedented by the developed economies. JGIM provides a great channel for IS scholars from both economies to share their experience and perspectives, with rich insights from their unique economic, culture and historical background. It is a great journal for the community to share and enjoy a global view of IT.

– Lihua Huang, Professor, School of Management at Fudan University, China
