Introduction

This edited research book is about the role of entrepreneurial university in regional development and on the promotion of local entrepreneurial ecosystems. The book will include contributions from international authors focusing on how universities are becoming more entrepreneurial oriented and the importance of this process for local communities and companies, considering a broad geographic overview. Therefore, the aim of the book is to provide insights and discussion about how universities foster and support entrepreneurship and the development of a more entrepreneurial organization, considering its internal and external perspective, as well as the implication in local context, both in the case of developed and developing economies.

Objective

This book aims to address the main issues of interest within the topics of entrepreneurial university, and its impact at regional. Also, the title will contribute to a better understanding of the development of the entrepreneurial university within specific regional contexts, such as developing economies.

Target Audience

This book is primarily aimed at academic researchers interested in Entrepreneurial University and Regional Development but also students, Innovation Managers and managers interested in this emerging filed. As Entrepreneurial University and Regional Development Management is a very practical and relevant topic for many business managers it is also expected that there will be a general in addition to academic audience interested in this book.

Recommended Topics

The book will focus on four key themes related to entrepreneurial university and regional development and competitiveness:
1) Conceptualizing the entrepreneurial dimension of Universities and other Higher Education Institutions
2) Outputs and impact of the entrepreneurial University at the regional level
3) Empirical evidence of the entrepreneurial University and regional development/competitiveness in developed and developing economies
4) Regional policy implications of the entrepreneurial University


Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before January 10, 2019, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by January 31, 2019 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines. Full chapters are expected to be submitted by March 25, 2019, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-blind review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Examining the Role of Entrepreneurial Universities in Regional Development. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-blind peer review editorial process.
