Introduction

Different Healthcare technologies are around since decades. These technologies are continuously evolving and changing the way medicine would be practiced in the future. These technologies would allow medical practice from anywhere, any time and from any device. These technologies are mainly concerned with the resources, devices, and methods required to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval, processing and use of information in health. It also combines the problem-solving skills of computer scientists with health care professionals. Healthcare IoT devices are an essential part of the modern healthcare system. Particularly, wearable IoT devices offer several new opportunities for healthcare professionals to monitor patients, as well as for patients to monitor themselves. When an IoT device collects patient data, it forwards the data to a software application where healthcare professionals or patients can view it. So, health information management is an important aspect in healthcare systems. It is a continuous mechanism for the collection, processing, analysis, and transmission of data into information and finally the transformation of information into intelligence on which Intelligent Healthcare Information Systems are based. Similarly, Clinical decision support systems which are computer-based programs can also use this information to provide prompts and reminders to assist health care providers in implementing clinical guidelines at the point of care. However, the continuous production of data is becoming unmanageable with currently available technologies. Therefore, in-order to meet this challenge, the adoption of cloud computing in healthcare is one of the best solutions which goes far beyond just storing data on cloud architecture.
