Call for Chapters

Proposals Submission Deadline: April 30, 2024
Full Chapters Due: June 30, 2024

Introduction

Thank you for your interest in contributing to the text, Leadership Psychology and Development: Facilitating Optimal Performance, Workplace Wellbeing, and Professional Evolution. This edited volume will provide a balanced, insightful, and meaningful guide for leaders to actualize their potential while empowering organizational stakeholders to optimally evolve. More specifically, we are seeking chapters on leadership psychology, mindfulness and emotional intelligence, individual and group flow and its impact on productivity, diagnosing - and treating - leadership challenges, and bolstering organizational cultures. We welcome original research (i.e. scholarly reports authored by researchers who conducted a study), literature review chapters (i.e. critical evaluations or summaries of established studies), and theoretical papers (i.e. manuscripts in which the author attempts to formulate new theories, or improve upon current theoretical perspectives, based on current research). Ideally, our chapter authors will be a diverse population representing a range of helping professionals (e.g. counselors, clinical psychologists, social workers, higher education leaders, industrial/organizational psychologists, healthcare leaders, etc.). Working together, our goal is to construct a useful and influential resource for leaders to consult as they - and those in their employ - evolve to actualize their potential.

Objective

This publication’s primary objectives are to serve as an invaluable resource for leaders interested in their professional development, constructing workplace conditions that empower followers and promote a strong sense of security, and optimizing leader, worker, and group performance. Each chapter should also inform the literature. We are encouraging a range of scholarly quantitative and qualitative studies that explore leadership topics from insightful angles. This balanced approach can encourage leaders to more comprehensively hone their craft. Additionally, leadership professors can use this text to encourage simultaneous attention to one’s leadership development and the professional evolution of subordinates.

Target Audience

This publication assumes that both leadership psychology and leadership development are inherently associated with empowering workplace cultures that promote superior efforts and performance. As such, our target audience consists of organizational leaders interested in professional development and business professors who wish to educate aspiring leaders. We feel that the recommended topics can provide the holistic resource required to construct a sturdy leadership foundation for less experienced leaders and an insightful guide for veteran leaders to augment their established skills.
