Introduction

Worldwide, adult education is increasingly gaining importance in connection with the concept of lifelong learning. Technological advancements, economic changes, and societal demands create an environment where individuals need to continuously acquire new skills and enhance their capabilities. Adapting to these changes requires adults to learn new skills and improve existing ones, allowing them to align with evolving needs and opportunities. Exploring new topics, acquiring fresh skills, and increasing knowledge levels contribute to enhancing an individual's quality of life. Cultivating a culture of lifelong learning among adults can be achieved through adult education. Therefore, redefining the adult learner, identifying the characteristic features of adult learning, and re-examining adult learning theories constitute the focal point of the project. Adult learning theories help us understand the learning styles and preferences of adults, enabling the development of more effective and personalized learning strategies for them.

Objective

The primary objective of the book is to redefine adult education in today's context, develop personalized education programs tailored to the individual needs and learning styles of adults, create content, and provide interactive learning experiences by rediscovering adult learning theories and offering a holistic perspective. Therefore, the aim is to provide a conceptual framework and practical examples that are adaptable to all areas of adult education, with a broad target audience and content that is independent of disciplines.

Target Audience

The book can encompass educators, academics, researchers, and professionals working in the field of adult education, covering all disciplines and providing content for anyone involved or interested in adult education. It particularly caters to educators, researchers, and academic staff engaged in theoretical work and content development within the field of adult education, offering a rich resource for those involved in adult education practices and research.
