Introduction

In an era of rapid technological advancement, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become a transformative force in various sectors, including education. Unlike traditional tools, GenAI offers personalized, dynamic, and engaging learning experiences. However, its integration into education presents complex pedagogical, ethical, and technological challenges. "Prompt Engineering and Generative AI Applications for Teaching and Learning" explores these challenges and opportunities, uniquely focusing on GenAI's transformative potential for educational practices globally. The book examines how GenAI can enhance educational outcomes and foster critical thinking, creativity, and personal transformation, aligning with theories such as Transformative Learning Theory and TPACK. Covering applications from K-12 to higher education and adult learning, it addresses the benefits of personalized learning and assessment, as well as ethical considerations and the need for robust policy frameworks.

Objective

The book delves into the applications of GenAI across diverse educational settings, from K-12 to higher education and continuing education. Its objectives include highlighting GenAI's transformative capabilities in educational environments, discussing the ethical, practical, and technical challenges of its integration, and providing a robust theoretical framework to help educators and technologists leverage GenAI effectively. Additionally, it aims to showcase global perspectives on GenAI's potential impacts, fostering a diverse and inclusive dialogue.

Submission Procedure

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit on or before June 30, 2024, a chapter proposal of 1,000 to 2,000 words clearly explaining the mission and concerns of his or her proposed chapter. Authors will be notified by July 14, 2024 about the status of their proposals and sent chapter guidelines.Full chapters are expected to be submitted by October 13, 2024, and all interested authors must consult the guidelines for manuscript submissions at https://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributor-resources/before-you-write/ prior to submission. All submitted chapters will be reviewed on a double-anonymized review basis. Contributors may also be requested to serve as reviewers for this project.

Note: There are no submission or acceptance fees for manuscripts submitted to this book publication, Prompt Engineering and Generative AI Applications for Teaching and Learning. All manuscripts are accepted based on a double-anonymized peer review editorial process.
