Author(s)/Editor(s) Biography

Pawan Kumar is the assistant professor in Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering Department at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, Punjab, India. He is a Certified Energy Manager cum Auditor (Bureau of Energy Efficiency) with 15 years’ (including 7 years of research) academic experience in the Power and Energy fields of Electrical Technology. Dr. Kumar has received his B. Tech from Kurukshetra University in 2001. He has done M. Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2010 and, PhD from Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi in 2016. He had excellent independent research training and development while being worked as Coordinator of Energy Elite Club. He has published several research papers in various reputed publishing houses including, IEEE, IET, Elsevier, and AJOL. He has been assumed as Managing Guest Editor for the Special Issue on “Innovative Technologies for Micro-grid and Smart-grid Systems” of Computers and Electrical Engineering, Elsevier Journal. He has also been served as a reviewer for reputed journals and conferences including, Engineering Science and Technology, an International Journal and Electrical Power and Energy Systems, Elsevier, IJITWE IGI Global USA, JCIT IGI Global USA, 12th IEEE INDICON-2015, International Conference on Advances in Computing, Communications and Informatics (ICACCI'17) and 14TH IEEE INDICON-17 held at IIT Roorkee. He has worked as Session Chair and reviewer for ICICS-2016 for the track of power, energy and control. He has also received Best Paper Award during ICICS-2016 International Conference. He has delivered expert lectures on Energy Efficiency in electrical utilities in various institutions. His area of current interests include: Energy efficiency in electrical utilities, optimization in power system’s operation and planning, distributed generation, load management and energy auditing, computational intelligence, Innovative technologies for micro-grid and smart-grid systems.
Surjit Singh is currently a faculty member with the Department of Computer Engineering at National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. He has several years of experience in teaching and research. He has submitted Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra. He has received B.Tech. degree with Honors in Computer Engineering from Kurukshetra University in 2008, and completed his M.Tech. degree with Distinction in Computer Science. He holds State Rank during his diploma course in engineering. He has authored many publications with reputed publishers including ACM, IET, IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Pearson and IGI Global. He is currently editing a book Handbook of Research on the IoT, Cloud Computing and Wireless Network Optimization IGI Global USA. He has already two Books to his credit entitled Computer Systems and Programming in C with publisher Pearson Education and Handbook of Research on Power and Energy System Optimization with publisher IGI Global USA, also one Book Chapter with IGI Global, USA. He is also serving as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Advances in Educational Technologies & Instructional Design (AETID) Book Series, IGI Global USA. He has served as Guest Editor for the Special Issue of Journal of Cases on Information Technology (JCIT) which is listed in WoS/Scopus indexed journal of IGI Global USA. He has chaired Invited Talk during International Conference SmartTech-2017. He is also serving as reviewer and or technical committee member for IEEE and other International Conferences including, NGCT-17, SmartTech-2017, IEEE ICIC 2015 and 12thIEEE INDIACom-18. He is member of the International Advisory Board of WoS/Scopus indexed journals including, International Journal of Hyperconnectivity and Internet of Things (IJHIoT), International Journal of Information and Communication Technology Education (IJICTE), International Journal of Wireless Networks and Broadband Technologies (IJWNBT), Journal of Cases on Information Technology (JCIT), and Reviewer of several journals listed in WoS/Scopus indexed databases. His areas of current interests are Internet of Things, Cloud Computing, Advanced Computer Networks, Wireless Sensor and Ad hoc Networks, and Computational Intelligence.
Ikbal Ali is Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. Dr. Ali has earned the Ph.D. degree for his research work in the field of Substation Automation, where he investigated the communication requirements for substation automation. Dr. Ali’s research work has been published in refereed international journals/conferences of repute. He is actively involved in research and development activities in areas of SCADA systems, Power System Automation, Smart Grid, Substation Communication Network, Broadband over Power Line (BPL), IEC61850 based systems, Wide Area Protection, Communication, and Control in Energy Systems, Power and Energy System Applications (generation, transmission, distribution, markets, operations, planning, Energy Management Systems (with applications to building and home automation). Dr. Ali is a senior member in IEEE and an expert lecturer on the topics related to Smart Grid Technologies, Substation Automation Trends and Communication Networks for Substation Automation.
Taha Selim Ustun received B.E. degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey in 2007 and Master of Engineering Science degree from University of Malaya, Malaysia in 2009. He has received Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from Victoria University, Melbourne, Australia. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering, School of Electrical and Compputer Engineering, Carnagie-Mellon University, PA, USA. His research Interests are Power Systems Protection, Communication in Power Networks, Distributed Generation, Microgrids and Smartgrids.
