Gerhard-Wilhelm Weber's academic journey began in Germany, where he earned his junior high school diploma before pursuing mathematics and economics at RWTH Aachen University. After obtaining his diploma in mathematics in 1986, Weber continued his studies, earning his Ph.D. in mathematics in 1992 from RWTH Aachen. He furthered his academic qualifications with a habilitation at Darmstadt University of Technology in 1999. Weber's career then took him to Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, where he served as a full professor and contributed significantly to fields such as computational biology and optimization. His extensive professional engagements included roles in academia, community service, and leadership positions in numerous international mathematical societies. Throughout his career, Weber's dedication to interdisciplinary research and international collaboration has made a profound impact on the global mathematical community, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations of scholars.

Roman Rodríguez-Aguilar is a professor in the School of Economic and Business Sciences of the “Universidad Panamericana” in Mexico. His research is on large-scale mathematical optimization, evolutionary computation, data science, statistical modeling, health economics, energy, competition, and market regulation. He is particularly interested in topics related to artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0. He received his Ph.D. at the School of Economics at the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico. He also has a master's degree in Engineering from the School of Engineering at the National University of Mexico (UNAM), a master's degree in Administration and Public Policy in the School of Government and Public Policy at Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education, a postgraduate in applied statistics at the Research Institute in Applied Mathematics and Systems of the UNAM and his degree in Economics at the UNAM. Prior to joining Panamericana University, he has worked as a specialist in economics, statistics, simulation, finance, and optimization, occupying different management positions in various public entities such as the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Health. At present, he has the second-highest country-wide distinction granted by the Mexican National System of Research Scientists for scientific merit (SNI Fellow, Level 2). He has co-authored research articles in science citation index journals, conference proceedings, presentations, and book chapters.
