English Language Copy Editing

IGI Global’s submission guidelines require authors to have their work professionally copy edited prior to final submission. To assist you in this effort, you can rely on our professional native English language copy editors to improve your manuscript’s grammar, spelling, punctuation, terminology, semantics, consistency, flow, and more. Our team of professional editors also has a vast knowledge of IGI Global’s full style and formatting requirements. Learn More

Scientific and Scholarly Editing

IGI Global journals receive thousands of article submissions for consideration. Those that are ultimately published often undergo numerous rounds of revision before they are formally accepted. Having your work evaluated by experts in the field prior to submission ensures your manuscript stands out and is also likely to alleviate multiple rounds of revision requests from the review board and/or Editor(s)-in-Chief. To improve the quality of your manuscript and streamline the process, you can have your manuscript reviewed by a PhD-level expert in your research area of interest to provide a pre-publication (peer review) content review of your manuscript including constructive suggestions and feedback to improve organizational structure, major weaknesses, and more. Figure, Table, Chart & Equation Conversion

It is of the utmost importance to have your figures, tables, charts, and equations be clear and of the highest quality to showcase your findings and adequately represent your research. To assist in ensuring that all visual elements within your manuscript are clear and concise, and to mitigate any potential delays during the development phase due to poor quality, IGI Global offers support from a highly qualified design team. With this service, our design team can reduce the burden of delays that can be caused by low-quality figures by providing figure design, enhancement and corrections, image editing and resizing, raw data transformations, equation conversions, presentation and poster design, and much more. Per IGI Global’s submission guidelines, all manuscripts must be submitted in American or British English. To assist those who speak English as a Second Language and to ensure that their work is properly represented, IGI Global offers English translation services from over 70 languages. Learn More

If an author chooses to submit their work to an IGI Global OA journal, and their article is accepted, IGI Global will deduct the Author Services fees from the final APC.

Once you identify the target journal, follow the simple steps below to submit your manuscript and view the steps that your article will undergo. This publishing process is fully conducted in the eEditorial Discovery® submission system.

Step 1

Ensure that your manuscript adheres to IGI Global’s Submission Guidelines, which include originality of the manuscript, professional English language copy editing, APA formatting, and more. View the List of Guidelines

IMPORTANT NOTE: You will be redirected to the eEditorial Discovery® submission system, which manages the entire publishing process for your manuscript. All manuscripts must be submitted through this system as manuscripts submitted outside of the system will not be considered for publication.

Step 3

Once submitted, your manuscript will be put into Initial Assessment (Desk Review) for initial feedback/review by the Editor-in-Chief, and then following this stage of review it will be sent through the double-blind peer review process. View IGI Global’s Peer Review Process

Step 4

Once it completes the peer review process, if the manuscript is accepted by the Editor-in-Chief, the APC charge will then be requested by the publisher and once paid or waived, the manuscript will then be sent to production for finalization and formatting.

Step 5

Once completed, the manuscript will become available directly on the journal webpage, as well as be shared with IGI Global’s full network of international distributors, metadata channels, as well as applicable abstracting and indexing services.

For IGI Global contributors, your work will also be added to your personal electronic library in your IGI Global Portal Account.

Peer Review
The peer review process is the driving force behind all IGI Global books and journals. All IGI Global reviewers maintain the highest ethical standards and each manuscript undergoes a rigorous double-blind peer review process, which is backed by our full membership to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The full publishing process and peer review are conducted within the IGI Global eEditorial Discovery® online submission system and on average takes 30 days. Learn More
Article Processing Charge
Article Processing Charge (APC)

Payment of the APC fee (directly to the publisher) by the author or a funding body is not required until AFTER the manuscript has gone through the full double-blind peer review process and the Editor-in-Chief at his/her full discretion has decided to accept the manuscript based on the results of the double-blind peer review process. IGI Global cannot schedule the article for publication or publish the article until payment has been received.

What Does IGI Global’s Open Access APC Cover?

In the traditional subscription-based model, the cost to the publisher to produce each article is covered by the revenue generated by journal subscriptions. Under OA, all the articles are published under a Creative Commons (CC BY) license; therefore, the authors or funding body will pay a one-time article processing charge (APC) to offset the costs of all of the activities associated with the publication of the article manuscript, including:

  • Digital tools used to support the manuscript management and review process
  • Typesetting, formatting and layout
  • Online hosting
  • Submission of the journal’s content to numerous abstracts, directories, and indexes
  • Third-party software (e.g. plagiarism checks)
  • Editorial support which includes manuscript tracking, communications, submission guideline checks, and communications with authors and reviewers
  • All promotional support and activities which include metadata distribution, press releases, promotional communications, web content, ads, fliers, brochures, postcards, etc. for the journal and its published contents
  • The fact that all published articles will be freely accessible and able to be posted and disseminated widely by the authors
