IGI Global and ZBW collaborate to strengthen the economic research community.

Bringing Economic Literature to the Scholarly Community with ZBW

ZBW logo The German National Library of Economics, or the ZBW – Leibniz Information Center for Economics, is a consortia in Germany based on economics and the world’s largest research infrastructure for economic literature. With a collection of more than 150,000 articles and working papers in Open Access, the ZBW provides a wide range of datasets, articles, and documents focused on economic research for researchers and students both online and offline. The ZBW is a member of the Leibniz Association and has received the LIBER award. EconStor, the ZBW’s Open Access repository, offers scholars a platform for free, open access publication in the field of economics. IGI Global was the ZBW’s first e-book partner, developing a long-time partnership and cooperation on e-book deals. Purchasing on behalf of their members, the ZBW has access to IGI Global’s complete InfoSci©-Books Database, providing expansive and innovative research content in economics to universities and economic organizations.

In 2016, ZBW invested in IGI Global e-books with a special offering of the InfoSci©-Books Database to its members. This is the first national e-book offering by the German National Library. They called the partnership a "marvelous cooperation" and nearly twenty new libraries now have a significant number of IGI Global’s innovative e-books to utilize with their university communities. ZBW selected IGI Global to be its first e-book partner because of our emerging, vetted content, which is in-demand; our e-resources policies; and our commitment to working closely with the consortium and the individual libraries to assist with the use of the e-books.

The e-book partnership between the ZBW and IGI Global provides digital dissemination of innovative and cutting-edge economic research to scholars, students, and researchers. With IGI Global’s InfoSci©-Books Database, all ZBW members have access to a wide collection of reference works, encyclopedias, handbooks of research, and teaching cases focused on emerging research and developments in the field of business and economics. Members also are given unlimited use and no digital rights management (DRM), and they are able to download and print e-books at the chapter and title level from IGI Global’s platform.

IGI Global’s InfoSci©-Books Database provides easy access and platform use for librarians in order to efficiently disseminate timely economic research. With the ZBW’s and IGI Global’s growing partnership, librarians are more easily able to provide customized and focused research needs and resources. IGI Global also supports the ZBW’s initiative to provide members with access to free and international documents, and to promote the learning, researching, and publishing processes.

Founded in 1988, IGI Global is an international and leading academic publisher of reference books, journals, and databases focusing on information science and technology. IGI Global is a leader in the field of e-resources and provides high-value databases: InfoSci©-Books (4,000+ e-books), InfoSci©-Journals (175+ e-journals), and InfoSc©i-Videos (80+ streaming videos).
