IGI Global is proud to announce that we have entered a new
Open Access (OA) agreement with Athabasca University, a Canadian public research university. Athabasca University has invested in an open access fund to support their faculty and staff’s research through our Open Access Agreement option. This fully open access agreement provides coverage for Article Processing Charges (APCs) that will be utilized by the university’s faculty to publish their research with IGI Global.
Athabasca University is supporting their faculty’s research and is leading the open access movement through this agreement. After undergoing our rigorous double-blind peer review process, their faculty's accepted research published under open access will gain increased discoverability and higher citation impact while contributing to crucial bodies of emerging knowledge and adding to their repository of high-quality publications.
Recognizing the increasing interest in open access publishing, we are prepared to have a conversation around our flexible open access agreements options. We encourage other libraries to meet with us to learn how faculty members can benefit from an Open Access Agreement. To read about how your institution can be the next to support the open access movement through an IGI Global OA Agreement, read more on our
Open Access Agreements webpage. If you or your institution are ready to discuss these options with us, you can request a face-to-face meeting with our eResources Team (
