IJeC Article Chosen as Best for 2014

International Journal of e-Collaboration (IJeC) Ned Kock, Editor-In-Chief of the International Journal of eCollaboration (IJeC), recently selected one article from the 2014 publishing year as the 2014 Best Article.

"How is Building Information Modeling Influenced by Project Complexity?: A Cross-Case Analysis of e-Collaboration Performance in Building Construction", written by University of Agder scholars Christoph Merschbrock and Bjørn Erik Munkvold, is a paper from IJeC's Volume 10, Issue 2. The article studies the intertwined nature of project complexity and collaborative performance in digital construction design, suggesting how current practice can be improved. The research is guided by the following question: How does project complexity influence BIM-based collaborative performance in construction projects?

The International Journal of e-Collaboration (IJeC) addresses the design and implementation of e-collaboration technologies, assesses its behavioral impact on individuals and groups, and presents theoretical considerations on links between the use of e-collaboration technologies and behavioral patterns. An innovative collection of the latest research findings, this journal covers significant topics such as Web-based chat tools, Web-based asynchronous conferencing tools, e-mail, listservs, collaborative writing tools, group decision support systems, teleconferencing suites, workflow automation systems, and document management technologies. Journal Editor Ned Kock is a professor of Information Systems and the Director of the Collaborative for International Technology Studies, in the Sanchez School of Business, at Texas A&M International University.
