The 36th Annual Conference confronts issues in book and serial acquisition

IGI Global Announces Diamond Sponsorship for the 2016 Annual Charleston Conference

By IGI Global on Oct 12, 2016
IGI Global's Academic Librarian Sponsorship Program Each year hundreds of librarians, vendors, and publishers make a pilgrimage to the Holy City. They are not headed to the Mediterranean, but to the southeast coast of the US- to Charleston, South Carolina.

The Charleston Conference is an informal annual gathering of librarians, publishers, electronic resource managers, consultants, and vendors of library materials in Charleston, South Carolina, in November, to discuss issues of importance to them all. It is designed to be a collegial gathering of individuals from different areas who can meet to discuss issues in a non-threatening, friendly, and highly informal environment. Presidents of companies discuss and debate with library directors, acquisitions librarians, reference librarians, serials librarians, collection development librarians, and many others. Begun in 1980, the Charleston Conference has grown from 20 participants in 1980 to over 1,600 in 2014.

Visit IGI Global at booth #49 and meet with Jackie Ricords, IGI Global's E-resources and Consortia Manager. Jackie will be leading a panel discussion on Friday, November 4th, on Library-Publisher Collaboration in regards to E-resources. IGI Global is proud to be an eighth-year Diamond Sponsor for this conference.
