Library Journal Reviews IGI Global's InfoSci®-Books and InfoSci®-Journals Databases

By IGI Global on Jan 18, 2016
Library Journal Reviews IGI Global's premier reference databases, InfoSci®-Books and InfoSci®-Journals, continue to receive acclaim and recognition throughout the academic community. Now featuring over 68,000 progressive reference sources and 158 scholarly journals, these databases allow librarians access to unique collections of cutting-edge, peer-reviewed research in all areas of information science and technology. Recently, Library Journal reviewed these databases and provided some great feedback:

"The entire IGI collection can be searched at once. A box at the top of each page allows a basic, advanced, or expert search. Basic is a standard, single box full-text search. Advanced offers fields such as author, title, ISBN/ISSN, or copyright date in addition to full text. Results are sorted by relevancy, but my searches revealed a slightly different order between the basic and advanced full text search. Expert may include or exclude search terms and assign levels of relevance to each term. Results may be filtered by content type (books, articles, videos), copyright date, and subject. Books and articles are available as PDF downloads or HTML full text on a chapter-by-chapter basis.

"The HTML pages are well formatted, with clear print and a responsive layout, perfect for increasing text size or for use on a mobile device."

The HTML pages are well formatted, with clear print and a responsive layout, perfect for increasing text size or for use on a mobile device. A table of contents appears on the left side of the page and moves with the user as they scroll through the contents. This provides easy access to other chapters as well as any supplementary materials associated with the title." -Bonnie J.M. Swoger, Library Journal, December 2015

Despite increasing acceptance and legalization of cannabis in some US states, disparities persist in federal marijuana laws, exacerbated by the Biden administration's classification of cannabis as a Schedule I drug. This inconsistency leads to unfair penalties in the criminal justice system, where individuals in legal states can still face federal prosecution.
