Frandson Award For Literature.

The Phillip E. Frandson Award for Literature in the Field of Professional, Continuing, and/or Online Education is presented in honor of the late Phillip E. Frandson, former Dean of UCLA Extension and 1977-78 UPCEA President. The award recognizes excellence in achievement for literature written about the theory or practice of professional, continuing, and/or online education.

The Handbook of Research on Competency-Based Education in University Settings is a pivotal reference source for the latest academic research on the use of competency-based testing in higher education institutions. Focusing on innovative practices, strategies, and real-world scenarios, this book is ideally designed for educators, students, administrators, professionals, and academics interested in emerging developments for competency-based education initiatives. Written by University of West Florida scholars Karen Rasmussen, Pamela Northrup and Robin Colson, this volume explores various junctures in education theory including administrative policy, faculty evaluation, student engagement and educational technologies.
