Spotlight Titles for National Mentoring Month

By IGI Global on Jan 5, 2015
Established in 2002 by the Harvard School of Public Health, the month of January is commemorated as National Mentoring Month (NMM), setting aside time to focus national attention on the need for mentors, as well as how each of us—individuals, businesses, government agencies, schools, faith communities and nonprofits—can work together to increase the number of mentors to assure positive outcomes for our young people.

NMM celebrates mentoring and the positive effect it can have on young lives. Its goals are to:
  • Raise awareness of mentoring in its various forms.
  • Recruit individuals to mentor, especially in programs that have waiting lists of young people.
  • Promote the rapid growth of mentoring by recruiting organizations to engage their constituents in mentoring.
Technology as a Tool for Diversity Leadership: Implementation and Future Implications In observance of this event, IGI Global would like to bring attention to a few premier reference sources that support this valuable cause.

Technology as a Tool for Diversity Leadership: Implementation and Future Implications focuses on the technological connections between diversity leadership and the focus on inclusivity, evolvement, and communication to meet the needs of multicultural environments. This book highlights societal implications in real-world problems and performance improvement in organizations, as well as addresses topics such as mentorship, diverse programs, training, and leadership. Edited by University of South Alabama scholars Joél Lewis, André M. Green, and Daniel W. Surry, this premier reference work is part of the Human Resources and Organizational Efficiency Topic Collection.
